Chinese proverb

"An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place or circumstances. The thread may stretch or tangle but will never break."

March updates

Aidan is finally Cast-Free !!!  It's been a long 8 weeks with him in a cast.  His bones were a little slow to heal at first but they finally got themselves together (pun..haha!) and he graduated to a splint.  Let the soaking and scrubbing and moisturizing of icky flaky skin begin !!

Riley had his last big Swimming Meet of the season.
I love watching him swim,
just wish the meets weren't so long,
with so much time in between each of his events.

Someone finds long swim meets in warm natatoriums exhausting...

We had our first (and probably last) real significant snow of the season.  Only one other time in February was there enough snowfall to actually suit up an go play in it (and that might have been pushing it!)

Blitz's 1st time in the snow,
and he wasn't much of a fan...

My little Irish girl ready for school on St. Patrick's day

And my not-so-Irish girl playing the part too.

But she wasn't going to school,
She had a date with the MRI scanner...
Her nephrologist ordered an MRI of her spine to rule out certain causes of her sudden loss of potty training skills.
So her neurologist added on an MRI of her brain to look for causes of her recent drastic changes in behavior and loss of developmental skills.

She was a champ!
Got her IV in with no trouble and they were able to send off the massive amount of bloodwork that had been ordered by her various specialists.
We saw lots of familiar faces...
so many nurses that used to work with me in the PICU now work in Sedation,
including her Godmother.
When Audra saw Renee she clung on to her for dear life,
I think wishing she would take her away.

Sweet girl snuggled up and fell asleep in my arms before they even gave her any anesthesia!

Once we were all done she was rewarded with a big old Shamrock Shake!

Both Riley and Maura had pieces of their school artwork in the District Art Show

All of February in one post

I'm in catch up mode so here's the rest of our February in one post.
There will probably be more pictures than words !

Our first significant snow fall and school snow day finally happened in early February.  The girls hung out at Aunt Kristy's so I could go in to work.  They had fun in the snow with Tatum.

My sweet little valentines on Valentine's day

Maura helped me take Blitz to his vet appointment and they were a hit again!
Always the social media stars.

My sister and I took the girls to the circus,
since this is the last opportunity we would have to take them.
Maura was interviewed by the local radio station just before we headed into the arena.

Tatum had her 3rd birthday party at an indoor bouncy house place.

Even Aidan came along,
since he is really running out of things to do with all of his free time ever since breaking his arm.

Audra and grandma

I took Maura to the dance show at the high school I attended.
When I was in high school I was part of a group of girls who started up a dance club with the help of the woman who choreographed for the drama club.
And now 25 years later {gasp!!} it's still up and running!

The high school's Facebook page featured a picture
of our original group in 1993 and this year's group.
I'm standing in the back on the far left side and my dear friend
(Maura's dance studio owner) is right next to me :)
They also posted a picture of the Dance Club's yearbook page from that very first year.
That's me in the bottom picture on the right side.

All these years later they are still using the same shadow box display case near the gymnasium to feature the dance show and each of the dancers.

Aidan's arm is slooooowly healing.
It's getting there, but not fast enough for him (or me!)
This kid needs to be active.
He doesn't know what to do with himself when he can't run, jump, skate, etc.

At least he graduated to a half cast after 6 weeks in a full arm cast.
Time to start stretching out that elbow.

It was a busy month but these two managed to squeeze in a nap or two here and there !

Maura's Party

Yes, it's February...but we are just now getting around to having Maura's birthday party with friends.
Even with Aidan sidelined due to a broken arm our weekends still seem quite full.

She wanted to have her party at an indoor trampoline park.
And it was sure fun, and exhausting!
It takes a lot of energy to bounce and jump for an hour straight.

 Audra loved the foam pit.

It sure was a workout for me moving around in that foam pit,
and even more so trying to get out of it!

After an hour of bouncing it was time for pizza and cake.

The birthday girl lost a tooth during her party ?!

After cake it was time for aracade games...
